Home Directory of British SBs Wallpaper Clipart
The Directory of British Signal Boxes is a comprehensive listing, in line order, of all signal box locations in the UK. It is provided as text files in a choice of three formats that are compatible with most computers.
The Directory is divided into five sections, based around the "Big Four" railway companies plus a section for miscellaneous railways, for ease of use. Even so, one section is over 200 pages in length if printed out!
Simple to use, the documents provide an ideal base for historian's records, diagrams and photographic collections.
Here is an extract from the Southern Railway section. Notice how boxes that were renamed, or renewed with a different name, are shown. The # symbol indicates level crossings that were not of full block post status. |
|
Here is another extract, from the LMS section for the LNWR line between Cockermouth and Workington. Each section of line is indexed in the front pages of the document so they can easily be found. |
|
Even the less well-documented railway companies are covered in detail. This extract comes from the Miscellaneous Railways section and covers part of the Metropolitan District railway. |
The listings are provided in a choice of:
